>>15370640It was the only thing that Hunter could offer Chad to re-up, along with vageries about being presented in a serious fashion after being booked as a loser comedy goon for the last couple of years, ever since Vince used Sheamus as a stand-in to bury Chad for being a vanilla midget and had him force Chad to admit to being a midget/use the Shorty G nickname Vince via Sheamus came up with to torment him.
Gunther's been promised the world title (and has creative control over his angles) and Punk's settled for just surviving so he can get his WM main event against Cena and maybe even be allowed to win it.
I'm sure Hunter promised him shit like "it's going to be the big angle driving Raw for the rest of the year!" and maybe even promising him War Games at Survivor Series instead of a world title run.
But who knows. I'm sure Chad is just happy he's being treated seriously at long last and knows that had he gone to AEW, he'd be in catering after two or three months after the Bucks get pissy that fans were openly "Shushing" the Bucks whenever they cut a promo.
