Nostalgia goggles are going to make it hard for people to admit that current roster members have credit to take for business being up. They likely wont be able to admit this until after they are retired and the next group is up and the comparisons start.

The same thing happened to Cena. People would say he wasn't shit because they couldn't let go of Rock/Austin and it wasn't until after he stopped wrestling reguarly to now people are giving him credit and saying the current guys are as big. It will continue forever

They are presented better, though. Romans return and heel run was almost directly tied into the spike. Cody came back and gave them an actual "top face" to draw for live events that they were missing before. Jey Uso is super over, etc.

Cody's return (more like the HiaC match really) and Sami in the Bloodline triggered the current hot streak for WWE. I don't say Sami from a smark perspective but due to his silliness, causing them to corpse regularly, it got the stable over and allowed them to be more three dimensional. Same thing with the Judgment Day and R-Truth.
