>>15395048>The companions outside of Bastila and Juhani have zero character arc.>sounds like KOTOR II>And what would that be?>And how is Carth disqualified based on that criteria? How is Mission disqualified? How is Zaalbar disqualified?Jfc
I'm not gonna go point-by-point over every single thing, but this is enough to demonstrate that you don't have a handle on either fucking game.
All of the companions in KOTOR I--again, save for Bastila and Juhani--have zero personality arcs. Once you recruit them, they are very static characters. That isn't to say they are bad, you overly sensitive queer, just that they don't change. Carth does not change, Mission does not change, Jolee does not change, HK-47 (despite unlocking his memories) does not change, Zaalbar does not change, Canderous does not change.
This is not a bad thing either, because in KOTOR I you are thrust into playing a very different character. You are funneled through the twist of being Revan. That experience can serve as an entire springboard for a new dynamic. It serves the game better that your companions, are much more static, to contrast against your actions there.
Now in KOTOR II, the companions are all much more dynamic, which is literally built into the game mechanics btw, since you're able to ascend each of them into being a Jedi. But this also serves KOTOR II's story much better since it's an ensemble piece and much more focused on the world around you and how it bends to the Exile and their ability to influence others. Your character themself does not necessarily change much at all. Your connection to the force is restored right at the beginning of the game, your backstory is known right at the beginning of the game. Again, that serves as a better contrast.
You're so fucking mindbroken that you don't even understand the post you're replying to was praising KOTOR I greatly, but saying it was straightforward compared to fucking Mass Effect, not even fucking KOTOR II.
