Insiders did. They knew this for decades, and a lot of wrestlers were former athletes. It wasn't until the mid-90s through the 2000s where this shit got muddied and you had guys where "killing the business" and not listening to wrestling boomers became the ethos of the average mark breaking into the business.
That explains the industry-wide problem, at least. WWE has no excuse for not having done this sooner.

Thats literally how wrestling worked for 100 years. Wrestlers who weren't former athletes used to be the outlier. Its why all the spots and even basic in ring movement was far more natural looking and smooth.

TK should make a dojo and get Shibata and Danielson to train real athletes.
Okada, Omega and Ospreay are all legit great athletes.

I don't think it's been that long. And Oba is the first that really got pushed right away. He shoot only had four matches before the North American title. Like, there's a couple NIL girls just now filtering in.

There was still a mix in 2016, 2017 got a little free agent heavy, but that first 5 Star from Gargano/Andrade got HHH on a crack addiction and he spammed that nigga for 2 years straight with Cole and Ciampa chasing the stars.
