unlike Hulk Hogan and The Rock who are multi-generational superstars, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin is only considered a superstar within the confines of the Attitude Era. Any other era, he'd be treated like a standard heel.

Austin wasn't good enough to main event WCW. Hogan signing with WCW in 1994 only reinforced why Austin couldn't get over until the Attitude Era.
