Athletes become stars, you retard. They are winners in life, so they are naturally charismatic and athletic. All the best wrestlers from the past had strong athletic backgrounds. All naturally athletic have physical charisma. Why do you think someone like Logan Paul can come in and look better than 99.9% of today's wrestlers. Kek no, you can have 200 athletes in one competition, and there will still only be 1 winner.
Athletes have the drive to win in their favourite sport that they're passionate about.
Look at these guys. They're all football dropouts who didn't make the cut. They're losers before even approaching NXT, and wrestling isn't their passion. It's just a ticket to ride.
If half the newcomers were amateur wrestlers, you might have a point with the winning mentality. There isn't a single amateur / NCAA wrestler on this list.

This is these guys' plan B.
Also a lot of athletes aren't charismatic. You just don't see them doing interviews because teams won't push them forward for interviews.

Youre telling half truths, most of those wrestlers did time in the indies after failing to go professional in their sports, signing a bunch of athletes are teaching them the soft WWE style is not conducive to success, unless they did amateur wrestling you need to let them do some time down there to add bit to their moveset and selling
