Yeah, WWE was at its absolute worst but there was Don Callis' Impact, MLW with actual momentum, Corgan was developing Powerrr, AAA was attempting to venture into the states with some truly big brained garbagekino, pre-Effy GCW, ROH was doing stable solid business as the no 2, and NJPW had cast off the Elite shittery and was gaining a foothold in New York City
AEW killed all of that for the Funko pop "big arena" version of PWG circle jerks and WrestleCircus reddit-level smark pandering
