I've always wanted a promotion to do a genuine Ship of Theseus angle with the original group reforming eventually and challenging the new group for the group identity.
The new group would have to be like 3 or 4 lineups removed from the original though. Like, absolutely nobody from the new group can be connected to the OG version.

Both. From what Edge has told in interviews he wanted to make the group a new Ministry of Darkness sort of thing. He handpicked Priest and Rhea. He was already dipping more into Brood stuff than he ever had in the rest of his career since it happened so it's not that he was opposed to doing supernatural or spooky shit like the dirtsheets ran with. He just didn't like some of the ideas that were pitched. One they did that made it to tv was the floating chair looking entrance. Or whatever that was. They did it. Edge thought it was dumb. Vince must have agreed because it was gone after. The other one he noted was they wanted them all to do some backstage promo around some giant cartoonish witch's cauldron and for Edge to carry around a scythe. Personally this all sounds based to be but I can easily see how it'd just look like Spirit Halloween the faction at that point. I feel like there may have been more he noted on but that's the general story on that stuff
