There's no money in amateur wrestling, hence they call it amateurish.
Pro wrestling can be done for a living, thus it's professional, thus they call it professional wrestling.
But to make it profitable, they have to fake it.
In other words, you have to lie to people in order to make money doing the fake shit that you do.
A perfect fit for this godless world.

I always thought that was kind of strange myself. I guess people just aren’t that into real american wrestling as opposed to other sports. Maybe if they changed some rules and made like a new wrestling sport they would be? Well theres Sumo Wrestling though, so you could do that. Not much money to be made in America with that though, but it is legit and fun to watch. Actually I wish someone would make a new fighting series, where its like the old way of doing MMA. Different disciplines fighting each other, and you have to stick to your specific discipline. That would be cool.

There was a "rearrange the jumbled sentence" question long time ago in my school's English test (ESL) where i rewrote a similar sentence and called amateur wrestling unskilled and professional wrestling skilled. I got it marked wrong
