Old school wrestlers didn’t really grow up fans or try to get in the business, they were recruited because they looked like beasts. Modern wrestlers jerked off to HBK doing sexy boy dances and went to wrestling school, they’re nerds so they don’t do drugs or party either

Yeah, this. Lots of old territory guys were washed up athletes, legit tough guys or just psychos who wanted to get paid to pretend to beat people up.
Most wrestlers now are just "wrestling fans" and spent their entire lives wanting to be a wrestler. They never had a life outside wrestling. They're nerds. NXT actively recruiting college athletes might be a step in the right direction idk
It's a huge problem all over the entertainment industry nowadays that people are starting to notice. George Lucas created Star Wars based on his love of old pulp serials and samurai movies. New Star Wars stuff is just based on Star Wars.
