I can see them running this whole "Punk is a weasel who has to ambush Drew," angle this one last time to do exactly what's happening in this thread (getting people to say that nothing new is happening between them) right before something new happens the next time they interact (like Pearce suspends Punk for continually assaulting Drew even though he already booked a match for them in the hopes that would put the matter to rest).

But, yeah, this shit NEEDS to enter phase 2.

It won't. Punk's not going to put over Drew in any way if he can help it, there's nothing Drew has done that's had any lasting impact throughout the feud. Beating up Punk to put him out of action was unceremoniously no-sold, the small victory of taking his bracelet was just nullified upon by Punk declaring it's meaningless in spite of being the very potent catalyst of every event in the last month, even his triumph in Summerslam was a work of happenstance rather than Drew beating Punk on his own. Unless the endgame is Punk turning into a paranoid schizophrenic heel and Drew turning into a tweener Scottish Psychopath and doing something with actual impact to resolve the feud, I don't understand much less enjoy what they're doing with this feud, and I don't think they understand what they're doing either.

He's right, though, the end result was undersold by Punk just coming out to promo on Drew and Drew doubling down on the bracelet thing so they could clear the ring and let Seth have his intestines pushed out of his ass by Reed. Seth is a non-factor in this feud so even including him was unnecessary and that much proves it (doubly so if he wasn't even fully cleared to come back IRL).

This feud stalled coming out of SummerSlam. I think it's still salvageable but whatever the next thing that goes down between them it absolutely needs to push into new territory. This is literally the last stop for act 1, they're out of road.

This is the issue with speaking with smark fans like you. You sound like this. Aggressively silly. If you're going to use smark basement terms like "put over Drew" then you can't also mix in kayfabe screeching about seth being the ref especially when it had no bearing on the outcome.

He weaseled his way into a win through opportunism and underhanded methods, that implies he didn't have what it took to beat Punk. Drew "lost the match" first because his shoulders were down for three seconds far earlier into the match but Seth didn't count, so that's wrong and shenanigans protected Punk's defeat.

Drew couldn't hit his finisher or pin him without cheating, he didn't win clean just because he actually managed to hit the finisher, that's not what winning clean means, and for that matter neither is putting over someone. Putting over means that you've done something to get their character more popular with the crowd. What's Drew's character nowadays? He's an accessory for Punk's schizo story, he's there to yank CM Punk chants out of the crowd as a means of heckling him and as a whipping boy to make CM Punk look strong beating up a big guy.

Which either means that he lost the match when he hit the ref, which didn't happen because the match didn't end there, or you're implying the match was lost because Punk cheated and then Drew also cheated with a low blow, which means you're agreeing with me that Drew didn't have what it takes to beat Punk clean. But hey, if you want to insist this overbooked fuckfest of a match had a clean finish because of some arbitrary ruling that a finisher and a pin turn everything clean, I'm done arguing. I conceed.
