The problem with most of the criticism about AEW is it basically boils down to 'It needs to be more like WWE!' when we already have WWE. The majority of WWE fans don't watch other wrestling either, so why cater to them?
A lot of the complaints are kinda dumb too..
>How am I supposed to know who this is?!
Maybe listen to the commentary team explain or watch the video packages AEW have started introducing for unfamiliar names. Failing that, you have a phone in your hand. I'm sure you Google things you don't know about on a daily basis. You can do that for a wrestler, no?
>How am I supposed to get that reference without watching ROH 15 years ago or watching AEW's YouTube shows?
WWE make references to stuff from ages ago that will go over the head of newer viewers too. Something like this causing you so much distress suggests turbo autism. Again, you're online complaining about stuff, but you can't take a minute to check for an explanation online? Someone on twitter or reddit will have explained it within minutes anyway and it won't be much longer before someone shares a clip with more detail. I can understand someone new to wrestling having these complaints, but if you're active in the iwc and coming out with shit like that you're not posting in good faith
>There needs to be more recaps for new fans! What would someone who doesn't watch wrestling think of this?!
These people don't really exist and if they do I doubt they're going to be watching AEW over WWE. As for the recaps, they're one of the worst parts of WWE. I haven't forgotten what I watched earlier or a few nights ago ffs. Do we really need 5-10 minutes of this every Dynamite on the off chance someone who has never watched wrestling decides to tune in?
Some things are justified. Like there's too many heatless bangers, matches going on too long, stories not developing over the course of the night, etc etc, but most of them are just ridiculous and should be ignored
