ospreay said that a major reason he signed with AEW is because he gets to spend more time in the UK to raise his black stepson. so, had he and blair stayed together, he wouldn't have his wife's son to raise, that wouldn't be a barrier to entry to the WWE.
but on the other hand, you also have to realize that ospreay is tony's absolute favorite toy of them all. he sits atop the toybox. whatever WWE would have paid ospreay, tony would have doubled it.
