And clearly they don't if stevie still has what, sub 50k views still? The climate has changed. Youtube is more like an archival version of twitch now, since you can literally have paying subs for the channel. I don't think many people use that to their benefit and still just treat views as the main source of income.
Anyway, this shit only works on retards, zoomers with self afflicted ADHD, and kids. Anyone else is typically only dragged in by the title, and it depends on if it pertains to their interests or not. When all is said and done, wrestling as it is now only a few steps above niche, but not mainstream. Making content primarily about it isn't exactly a working machine unless you're privy to shit inside WWE, which is exactly why Maven is the perfect catalyst for why he took off. He was the first figure in a notorious event with WWE, worked and had relationships with a few of the top and well liked wrestlers, knows how to spin a yarn, and quite literally admitted he'll expose as much of the business as he'll have to to make profit.
If Stevie were smart, he'd use this chance to delve deep and hard into ECW. Any politics, how the shows worked, why they worked, controversies, shit like that. He could definitely turn that into something. Because I mean, how the fuck do you let MAVEN, who wasn't even REMOTELY involved in it, cover the Mass Transit incident and YOU, the ECW star, DIDN'T? Stevie's just a fucking idiot and doesn't have a mind for making interesting business.
