As revenue went up attendance went down. Children had a hard stop in their early teens when they realized how lame wrestling is. Older blue collar fans drifted off.
...leaving only the diehard "wrestling is art" nerds. So when they asked the fan base for ideas they just kept demanding vanilla ballerinas. Muscles = bad, Acrobatics = good. Bimbos = bad, female badasses = good.
