Exactly. AEW is not an established property. Their track record is a mixed bag. consistently in the top 3 on their night when up against the NBA or whatever else, but reliant on a strong BBT lead-in and has lost half its viewership.

valid guesses. my guess is TK was worried that sectioning off ROH and putting a comparatively low dollar figure on it might de-value (by comparison) the rest of the package. Like instead of comparing Dynamite and Rampage to Raw and Smackdown, adding ROH to the mix standalone might push those comparisons down more towards the NXT level.

It's probably because Tony wants his shows on Turner channels because he's a mark and there's no wrestling history attached to CW. He barely does any work with aew or roh, he writes names on spreadsheets and gives the guys no direction so they visibly make up reasons for their interaction in confusing promos when they get a chance. Putting ROH on TV would require no extra work or cost on his end unless it was live and he had to hire a few more live production guys

why do stations put shows on their channels? answer... to make a profit. ratings aside the people at warners have the numbers and can see exactly how much dynamite and the other aew shows make. they are NOT going to give tony more money than the programs can ever make in return because it doesnt make any sense from a financial standpoint. there is no way aew is generating 50 million a year so why on earth would they give tony a new deal worth $1 billions$$$ at $260 million a year!!! thats insane!!!

realistically they will only offer below what the shows are earning now. i mean what they pull in from advertisers etc. there will be no increase because there is no real profit. investing even $100 million a year makes no sense because there is no way for tnt/tbs to earn that from aew programming

I'm the guy who has been explaining that exactly t thing on this board for months. I predict 160-180m per year which is a gross overpayment because aew is trending down and they risk a loss paying that much for the TV rights. 260m would make aew profit, possibly. The conversation is about aew's profitability and how that isn't likely. If they get 1b for 5 years it would be a miracle but still not enough to profit. They would need more than that. Learn to read.

Considering potential carriage fees it's very possible that wbd could profit off of that much with max subscriptions plus ad rights plus carriage fees. Aew won't profit though.

exactly. especially since the ratings have decreased dramatically during this past year and a half. you dont get an increase for that. tony has zero bargaining power. also like i said they have the breakdown and know exactly how little they are making off swineamite. to pay tony millions more than the station is making is ridiculous. the only reason wcw was on tbs/tnt for so long was because ted turner owned it
