I'm still on 2016 and my customization of it. i'll get 2024 later once its cracked. I dont care for some of the features and the fact he used that lame group system for your fed instead of letting you mix and match things yourself. I run panty butt deathmatch leagues. there's no proper selection for that so I get penalties if I try. in 2016 I can run pantybutt deathmatch without some bullshit group setting and bad ui. overall he's still making the same shitty ui games with kinda crappy features.

it does oddly well for what it is. a mix of pantybutt stripping and death matches mixed. it gets the pantybutt boost so that helps ratings a bit. still not getting 80s or 90s but ive seen a few matches pull 60s and 70s fairly well so it does pretty good overall. Plus I like the idea of female wrestlers busting eaching with chairs and lightbulbs while in thongs and sports bras

Oh wow. I didn’t know it was out. Probably give it a few months before I make the switch.
Does the new game let you make a promotional style? It bugs me in 2020 that mainstream puro, shoot style and respectful wrestling are all exactly the same but somehow shoot style is negative to sponsors but msp is attractive to them and respectful is neutral.
I’m fine with most entertainment based styles being attractive to sponsors, you should be awarded for doing a style that requires storylines, but I wish there was something in between 80s AJPW and 90s WWF that could make money. Or that there was some significant match rating boost for being a death match or pornographic promotion, like you might not get sponsors but you can have a roster full of yard tards but you’re able to cover up their lack of ability by getting their tits out or throwing them through glass.

Ive had the best luck running my pantybutt deathmatch fed in 2016 since it doesnt have that trash group setting for feds in it. I know that doesnt solve your problem but 2016 and earlier having the old system where you mixed and matched fed type yourself was imo better. And yeah due to the way the later systems work there's alot of types of feds that fail or have problems or arent makeable without penalty

CVerse is great because it's perfectly balanced, but I do agree it takes some autism to be able to properly get into. It's a massive universe with like 20+ years of lore, at this point I doubt most people who aren't already familiar with it will bother.

Can't decide where I want to start in TEW9.

By and large the world mostly seems to be the same? Should have progresses it to 2024 instead of 2022 to be honest since I don't see much difference. USPW is still #1 despite the aging roster, SWF is still #2 and not much has happened. All the companies are more or less where they left off in 2020. I played way too much SWF in 2020 so I think I may give USPW a go this time even though it seems to be "easy mode". Kind of like playing Man City in Football Manager with infinite money.

Bit sad that the women's scene is still undercooked and we still only have two female promotions with the only difference being that USPW poached a few girls from QAW. I did see that the C-Verse Women's Revolution mod got updated last night though so that makes up for that. May play as one of the new companies in Japan too.

Yeah if anything I would have figured he'd put more of a focus upon it, especially with the continued prevalence of women's wrestling IRL and the general popularity among TEW players. At least the mods fix that so it's whatever. It became a staple of my games in 2020.

I prefer rebooking historical periods with 20/20 hindsight. I get a lot of enjoyment out of it. CVerse is a fine diversion but I always return to historical periods, typically the 80s or 90s. Early 90s is probably my favorite era because its a transition between two boom periods and there is a ton of potential there to shake things up and change the face of the business.

My issue with real world mods is just how large the companies are. Booking WWF/WWE is nightmarish. Not to mention when you hit late 90's/early 00's you have to contend with multiple shows and there's just no reliable way to "auto-book" them.

I always edit it so I have a 60 minute A show and then a 2 hour B show. I don't book the B show manually. It's just a way to build momentum for some guys. There isn't a PPV every month so there's more time to build to each one. I map it out backwards from each PPV and only have two storylines at most being advanced per week (typically through angles) with squashes mixed in to get guys wins on the A show, and then one competitive match given time to shine as the feature match. I prefer 5-6 PPVs per year so this time period works for me.

Now that sounds fucking based. Guessing you play the fleish 92 chronicles mod? Thats the best made mod by a mile it’s a shame the start date is so long before the Monday night wars though, I always feel like I’m so far ahead of the competition by 95 that it ruins the entire period
As for Regal I can’t remember if that mod gives him the “marketing nightmare” attribute but I always delete that in the editor before starting because he was dimes in his 2008 run and would’ve been easily able to move merch if they’d pushed him (if he’d ever kicked his junkie habits)

That comes down to the graphics pack. I think the default cverse one now comes with two options, either to use the old style jpg images or the new gif ones.
Downside is that the images in the gif border ones are smaller.

I think he'd definitely get a lot more sales if he moved to Steam but I guess the game is still niche enough that he doesn't want to risk it as I doubt it pushes many copies. It's 100% word of mouth. An autism game about booking fictional wrestling is for the extremely autistic after all.

I think the most interesting part about USPW is having stupid sums of money from the get-go to do things like building an academy, create a feeder promo and just start poaching everyone elses talent the moment their contract is up. Honestly I'm surprised they didn't get either of those things this year but I guess it leaves the player something to do with them.

Are there any GOOD IX mods which add lots of new wrestlers, both male and female? I want to play in Europe but there's so few options to add to the roster. I don't care if they add more companies, I mainly just want more wrestlers in the game without having to use some like Altverse which changes the entire setting.

Also it’s arguably the most interesting time with Vince having taken over WWF a year ago and right before he starts raping the competition (in business terms). Hogan is still at AWA at the start date right before he joins WWF

And honestly it's too autistic to forbid an updated version of a mod of a dead guy. It's not like he has a monopoly on the time period, wrestlers or venues or anything. Like will they forbid it because both mods have Madison Square Gardens? You could just as well use it as a base. I'd understand if it's a fictional universe or has custom wrestlers but not a real world mod.
