WWE has higher earnings potential. With WWE you reach a wider audience and have a shitty pipeline to mainstream Hollywood. So while the average shitter is going to make more in AEW, there is always the small chance of someone being the next Rock or Cena. Still makes them a mark though.

A few years ago, yeah it made no sense. But now it's pretty obvious WWE is the premiere destination. Drew, Liv, etc are signing with talent agencies embedded within TKO for movies and shows. The WWE brand is also way more valuable than AEW. "WWE star joins the cast of X movie" goes a lot further than "AEW star"
