As someone who's friends are under Ykz contracts, I will explain the situation. They sign you under bullshit contracts that pretty much last forever, and if you try to leave they threaten you with violence. Nowadays, due to the internet age and all communications being permanently saved, you can easily go to the police and be protected, unless you have family or they have dirt on you and then they can blackmail you so you can't do shit. If some people in any medium just stop doing anything and never make a comeback or do literally anything, it is usually this. If you do use police and get free, you are blackballed by many people unless you turn into a big enough draw to warrant taking back, but then you will never be trusted again and only be used as a part-timer or freelance.
