The attendance would be collected by their ticketing system. The number was available to Tony if he went and asked for it, which is normal to do. He distributed a number of tickets, a lot of comps too, and announced that number instead of the actual attendance. Everyone does that, whatever. The issue is that he was blatantly lying that it was tickets sold and attendance and did so while grandstanding that it's the real number unlike the evil WWE who lie to you. Turns out he is a much bigger liar.
