>>15661365Wrestling has a longer development cycle than MLB where 1st rounders routinely flame out. As of 2024, most 2019 picks are already mid-20s so they're done growing physically. Many just aren't that good after all despite showing monster potential in their early 20s.
Even without a TV deal, WWE needs a place for green wrestlers to train, do rehab and get reps in. Developing 2-3 mid-card talents per year makes NXT pay for itself.
