I don’t think I’ve ever attended some backyard level shit.
I did go to a “lucha” show like 15 years ago. It was a bunch of California indie guys, who weren’t good, doing lucha gimmicks. Sort of a proto lucha underground. They had a gm come out between all the matches to hype the crowd and lecture the heels when they won. I assumed he was also the promoter. They did bring in el pantera and as a cat guy that was cool at least.

there aren't any deathmatch companies anywhere close and I'm not spending money to watch barely trained shitters crawl through shitty matches unless they are lit on fire or being thrown through glass.
Used to go to IWC shows before the indies died but there are no worthwhile indy wrestlers anymore.

It’s why I will never understand this board’s obsession with massive attendance numbers. Some of the most fun shows I’ve been to have been bumfuck indies like these with only a few dozen to a few hundred people there at best.

I was talking about IWC (International Wrestling Cartel), not ICW NHB.
IWC used to get ROH/TNA/DDT etc wrestlers back when the indies were relevant. They are not relevant anymore so instead of AJ Styles I get some 155lbs homo who wrestles twice a month in front of 10 people these days.
