>>15726688Most of them killed themselves because they were colossal emotional pussies. You can blame David's death on drug addiction, and Chris's on being young and stupid. The others are their own fault.
David died of a drug overdose (or withdrawals, no one knows for sure) on an All Japan tour in 1984. Official cause of death is ruptured intestines, but Flair says this is only because they cleaned the scene before they called the ambulance because he was already dead. Some think his heart exploded from withdrawals. He was 25.
Mike purposefully OD'd on pills and booze (left a suicide note) in 1987 because he got a DUI and didn't want to deal with it (gotta be able to drive to get to shows). He was 23.
Chris shot himself in the head in 1991 because he broke his arm. Kevin could have stopped it, but left him alone on the top of a hill with a 9mm knowing he was suicidal. He was only 21.
Kerry shot himself in the heart in 1993. His foot had been amputated in 1986. Despite being able to still wrestle with a prosthetic, this broke him emotionally. He went into the shower with his boots on for years, only 3 or 4 people ever saw him with his boots off after that. The amputation was his own fault for not listening to doctors and going back to wrestling too soon after a surgery. He told Fritz and Bret Hart he was going to kill himself to "join his brothers." He was 33.
Fritz died from cancer in 1997. At 68.
Kevin is still alive.
So what do they all have in common, and why am I calling these badass wrestling legends colossal pussies? Because I'm from Texas and I know what the Von Erichs are. There's just a certain look and aura that some young guys have in Texas that is PURE DIMES to women here. All of them had it. My theory is that they couldn't deal with injuries, couldn't deal with losing the family, couldn't deal with growing old and not being young hot wrestlers slaying rat pussy every night. They were just too in love with being the Von Erichs in the early 80s.
