The implication with AEW has always been that it's Shad giving his idiot son his own thing to fuck around with so he can't fuck up the sports teams or Shad's actual business.
With AEW specifically, it's because he's a message board junkie who thinks having read a lot of Observer issues, posting on DVDVR and playing TEW makes him qualified to run a wrestling promotion but he's no more qualified to do that than run a sports team because he's an out of touch autistic retards.
