Honestly, the seeds of it were laid back in 2001. As the only game in town, Vince soon realised he didn't have to try. After the initial panic of losing fans stabilising into, "Oh well, at least we have a core viewership," Vince decided we're all fucking idiots who'll tune in regardless so he stopped listening to what the fans wanted. Sure, it pushed more people away, but the company still made enough profit from merch and live gates so who gives a shit?
Flash forward and we reach the logical conclusion of that- NOBODY'S opinion matters except Vince. Millions of people worldwide tuned in to programming written for an audience of one. We all thought it was dog cum, but Vince liked it so that was all that mattered. He's been out of touch with wrestling, his company's fans, the entertainment industry and reality for a solid 15 years now, so we got an out of touch product nobody could enjoy except one demented sex fiend in all the world.
