It's weird in that the driving is objectively shitty but it's incredible fun to get good at and cruise around smoothly without crashing into shit
I would spend hours just immediately getting three stars and escaping from the cops as an adolescent, GTAV just never gave me that feel

GTA IV is the most underrated game of all time.
The driving is immensely satisfying if you actually get good at it.
Greatest story, physics, radio stations and characters. Not to mention TBOGT which is a fantastic game in its own right.

GTA 4 had two incredibly story DLCs too. Even if you weren't a fan of The Lost and Damned, it had an incredible story.
It's kinda unfortunate that GTA 4 will kinda just be.. there. The 3D universe era linked all the stories together. the HD universe just references shit that happened, but I have a feeling GTA 6 and 5 will connect just due to the success of 5. 4 will be an afterthought.

gta6 is probably gonna suck. what i hate about modern rockstar is how railroaded the missions are, if you don't do things the way the game wants or stray 5 yards away from the area you get hit with a "mission failed" screen which is at odds with an open world game. plus all the filler bullshit (the yoga mission, having to mop the floor). plus there's nothing much under the surface to do. you can hardly go into any buildings, most npcs are lifeless etc. gtaonline also killed any single player dlc.

GTA 4 had a good story and that’s literally it. There’s literally nothing to do other than play story mode unless you want to go fuck around on the swingset. That’s the reason why gta 4 is “underrated”. They took out almost every fun thing out from San Andreas that made the game fun to just boot up and fuck around in
