Whoever world champion is. I used to think it would be so fucking meaningless him winning it main event night 1, but I feel he can make the belt look like it's worth something. Like how everyone thought the Universal Belt was a worthless piece of shit til Roman solidified it as the title to have while the actual WWE Champion became the secondary belt.

No it was always a worthless piece of shit belt. Garbage design. Garbage and also cursed lineage. It never actually mattered which is exactly why they did have Roman win the WWE title too and unify them and why they phased the Universal title out completely. The "world championship" on Raw is about on par. The fact that its entire existence came from being the Roman Reigns consolation prize to Seth so he'd stop being so uppity set the pace from the start. He had an awful reign that was finally ended by Drew who was immediately cashed in on by Priest who then went on to have a somehow even worse reign. And now Gunther's going to aimlessly hold it just to run up the days like they literally just did with his IC title reign. it doesn't mean shit

Going into OCtober of 2020 the Universal Title meant more than the WWE Championship. I don't even fucking know who the champs were during reigns run at first. I think it was Mcintyre then Lesnar, then the Miz for some random fucking reason. The belt looked cheap, while the Universal Title looked strong cause Roman had it and was being booked better. Same thing can happen to the World Championship. Right guy just needs to hold it. Faggots like Seth and Gunther will never legitimize it.
