Not surprised to hear this. Kind of sad though. I don't live in an area that ever gets TV tapings, but seeing my favorite wrestlers at the civic center last year was really amazing.

Not really, it was a fairly common sense statement for someone who hires people.

Or in actuality both CM Punk and Triple H took time during Wrestlemania week where instead of promoting their biggest show of the year they instead made it about AEW and got a ton of people talking about them

Ospreay sucks but if you think Ospreay is the reason AEW ratings have dropped over the last year, then you're a mark too. It's not like Ospreay is the only thing on the show.
It's pretty much proven that no on-screen talent in AEW has any significant effect on the ratings. The problem is Tony and it always has been.

Ospreay, Okada and Mone all coming in at the same time and being pushed to the top of the card is a big part of AEW's ratings drop in my opinion.
Say you were someone who was really invested in Eddie Kingston and enjoyed seeing him win the collision classic where he overcame guys like danielson and moxley only to be treated as a piece of shit jobber and thrown off the card once Okada showed up. You'd be rubbed the wrong way and would stop watching

So true, it'd be one thing if Okada was destroying mid-card talent for weeks at a time. But this was his 1st singles match as an AEW talent and he beats the piss out of Kingston and pins him.

Gotta be frustrating to be a casual AEW fan, not one who sits around on YouTube or Twitter arguing with people, and see your favorites disappear or become jobbers overnight

79 house shows this year but 32 were NXT shows. I wonder how much of each column will be cut? The NXT house shows probably lose money but the rookies need the reps. The WWE shows make money but some stars could use the rest.

Think you answered your own question. With NxT picking up steam, shows with 5 next matches and 2-3 mid/upeekidcadera in B and C towns may be the way to go. Especially with Shapiro constantly, hyping “The Brand” as the draw. An LA Knight main event, New Day by the numbers house show match, and undercard filled by NXT is more than enough to draw in Cincinnati/Louisville/Tuscon/Pittsburgh, etc…
