Details on AEW Shockwave on Fox

No.15803625 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
>Fox wasn’t happy with the price they paid for WWE versus what they got out of it. They wanted more viewers or, at the very least, viewers who spent more money.
>Fox still wants weekly, first-run content
>Fox reached out to Tony Khan in mid-August to discuss a potential TV show on network TV
>WBD and Fox are already working together on Venu, a combined sports platform along with Disney (and therefore ESPN and ABC).
>WBD and Fox both want AEW content to sell their live channels, plus they need content for Venu and Max.
>As it stands right now; AEW is going to have a show on TBS, TNT, and Fox. They will also stream live on Venu. Archived PPVs, Dynamite, Rampage, and Collision will be on MAX.
>Shockwave will air on Fox, date TBD, in a 2 hour block weekly. It’ll also simultaneously stream on Venu and archived episodes will be available next day on Venu.
>All of this has made AEW “insanely profitable”, they’re making at least $350 million a year and they’ve opened up avenues with ESPN, Disney, ABC, and Fox all in a month. This is absolutely unheard of for pro wrestling.
