He was always described as a comedy jobber in a GOAT's body. He's making money, having a good time, and this really isn't hurting him. He can go back to New Japan afterwards to close out his career, have some fresh feuds, and won't have missed a step.
The bigger question is what is Tony getting out of it. For what he spent? Not much.
