Meltzer still glazes Tony Khan and AEW but Alvarez after 5 years finally sees the writing on the wall and has to admit AEW is second best to WWE and its a far distant #2. Dave will never admit this because the indies was his darling for years and thought it would be the next evolution in wrestling but people still want WWE regardless

Covid killed them ultimately. 2019 WWE was so dire so AEW was an alternative, there was a lot of momentum for them too with being a new big brand, some big names.
