>>15902583I don't know when you started watching specifically but after the reality show circa 2013 Sami Zayn vs Cesaro changed everything. That was the start of NXT as we know it, Adrian Neville, Zayn, Tyler Breeze et al.
Then they sign Steen, Devitt, Kenta, main roster is the drizzling shits and there's nothing else on TV like this so it's very cathartic, then the Takeovers happen and finally seeing these guys in main roster sized venues in big cities are such a gratifying release, truly beloved memories... However, these guys are world class, no one's really being developed here. No one cares because it's the best wrestling on TV.
Other people ITT have told you about Gargano, Ciampa and Undisputed and how it was this gay ass toybox indie where no one was learning, and no one wanted to be called up, stagnation, a true proto AEW. Wrestling had never been deeper in Plato's Cave and I hope it never gets that deep again. Reset button's hit, Vince-run NXT 2.0 with Shawn booking takes a long time to find it's feet and I mean long, but with Vince leaving and the move from Rainbow NXT to White & Gold NXT and we've finally hit our stride. NXT is now exactly what it was supposed to be, nothing less.
So basically if you like watch NXT up until 2017-2018 ish.
