>>15930240Spanish, like a lot of other languages based off latin are rooted in gender. The 'a' denotes female and 'o' is male. So Chica means young girl and chico means young boy. And so on and so forth with any other word in spanish. I don't think they have a gender neutral term. I know German more and they do. But theirs is different where it's die, der or das which is 'the'. And most the time Freund is Freund and if it was female it would be Freundin.
