In Japan, he could work with Japanese wrestlers even if they were a few inches taller than him, because he still had more muscle mass and weighed more. This is essential for his style to work. He can't promo in English because he uses his real voice. In Japanese he uses some anime voice he copied from some voice actor.
His earliest stuff in Japan is nuts. He's running around DDT looking like weeaboo Ultimate Warrior. I recommend it. Tony would do good to copy what Vince did with Roman in WWE and throw out all of his previous booking if he comes back from hiatus. It worked for Roman, and Omega's AEW run so far is completely forgettable.
