It was a good run. The grab and go counter at the Market’s Kitchen has been a diet staple for years.
Yesterday, after a hour-long >$100 grocery run, I chose to grab a hot fried chicken sandwich from the counter. It was going to be my dinner. Simple, fried chicken on a bun, onto which I planned to add a mix of the three condiments which were available in free single-use packets: ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise. The three in combination are my go-to sauce mix for fried chicken.
I got in my car. I picked up the wrapped sandwich. On the front, it read the following: “FRIED CHICKEN SANDWICH.” Notice there were no qualifiers on the end of that title, no indication that the sandwich would in fact contain anything other than, you guessed it, fried chicken.
What you probably didn’t guess though, was the OTHER ingredient…
