When I was just getting onto the IWC, I bought a Best of The Eliminators tape. I had seen them only once on Barely Legal '97 and thought they were the best team ever.
Then I watched the tape. It was basically the same match for 6 hours. They did the same spots in every match and there was clearly nothing else there but cool moves and kickouts. I never wanted to see The Eliminators again and figured out why people thought they and a bunch of other ECW guys were awful spot monkeys.
Mike Bailey's the same way. Go watch a 6 hour comp of his matches. You'll see him kick out of everything, do a million flips, do a bunch of dangerous things and work the same match every time out regardless of who he is facing or why. Meanwhile, if you watch like people like Bret Hart, Demolition or Jerry Lawler, you'll see them work with a variety of different opponents, you'll see them completely change the style of match depending on who they face and you'll instantly see why they are some of the best wrestlers ever and why people like Mike and The Eliminators aren't.
Mike also legit has a case for being the worst promo in the US.
