To be fair , fight forever has a huge problem with the combo system . No one talks about it enough, It’s delayed . When you press a button on that game there is significant lag. At least on the ps5 version there is and it made my experience suck. I’m talking offline too, not online. The game feels half baked .

The combo system in 2k games is literally made for mashing casuals. Pressing 1,1,3 is baby mode to something like a beat em up. Fight forever is a little more complex but the gameplay is dog shit bad and when it’s delayed it makes thing way worse .

I think the reason for that is Fight Forever is basically fighting for its life running its badly converted 2K code on Unreal engine, there's a reason they can't even have more than four guys on screen. There's so much overhead going on even pressing a single button has lag and it's the main reason the gameplay doesn't feel anything like AKI despite being conceptually similar.

This fucking piece of shit strikes again. That would explain a lot why the game felt sluggish especially when there is explosions on screen and crap. The arena felt so cramped too. Trying to disguise the game as an “arcade” experience is bullshit considering none of the AKI games were in the arcade .

My biggest problem with Fight Forever was the stupid ai tries to pin after every little move such as an armdrag. It was hard to have a long match because of that stupid stuff. I never even had the chance to complain about anything else before turning it off. As far as WWE 2k24, I just downloaded it and I haven't played a 2k game in probably ten years.

They should just make it like Rumble Roses with smoother gameplay and animations. The late 2000’s SvR games had the right idea going but they ruined it by introducing all this simulation fluff. The recent 2K games are getting slightly better but you have to press like three different buttons just to do something as simple as irish whipping someone

Terrible opinion

There's a reason the "fighting game" style wrestling games did so much worse than the "sim style" of the AKI games in terms of sales.

The people voted with their wallets and they voted for games that are more like real wrestling than fighting games, by a vast supermajority.

MyUniverse made me realize how hard it is to book feuds. You start a feud in MyUniverse and for the next ten matches it’s just you squashing your rival over and over with the occasional cutscene showing your wrestler heeming him even more. Then you get to a PPV and it’s the most anticlimactic match in the feud. You have to handhold the game and even then it never gets interesting
