>Much more grounded characters and stories, perhaps even more mature despite still being PG and aiming at families

All or at least most of the things smarks complained about WWE are over now. AEW thrived because WWE was fucking awful in 2019. Weirdly enough WWE started to turn things around right when AEW started going to shit. Now AEW is ice cold, has negative hype and a general aura of being bad. Just like TNA back in the day.
