>>15996293Is he really? I mean, you have the issue that Phil is on borrowed time with his body, not to mention his mental hang-ups. Again, as is often the case with these sorts of things, the follow-through is essential, but I don't see how Drew has been helped as things stand.
>>15996296Oh yes, on his hands and knees, begging Phil not to screw out a title helped him. Also, no, Phil went into the rumble, got injured, and then, in his first match back, he lost... but only because Drew cheated. That isn't a good look for Drew; the only way he can beat an older man back from injury is by cheating. You could have Drew easily win the first match, and Phil realises it's a different game, and he has to step up to the plate. He must be humble and work to overcome a monster like Drew. Meanwhile, Drew, fresh of his legit win against CM Punk, begins to make mistakes and gets sloppy, which leads to his defeat the second time against Punk, who lays out why Drew is lost. Then the third match is close, but Punk manages to get the win - experience just edging out. Boom. Both guys are elevated, and you've told a basic but competent story. The above is what Phil should have done in AEW with Darby.
