The original Rock died in 2002. You can look it up if you know where to look (I wont post it here). Dwayne Johnson replaced him by 2003. You can tell the difference between the persons by the subtle difference between his tattoos and the hairline at the back of his head.

He slimmed down for Hollywood.
There weren't a lot of roided guy movies at the time (it was seen as hokey for the time) and most of the best action movies from the mid 00s had a guy that was in good shape, but a not a roido.

Rock got into the Disney market and was doing pretty well. I think people don't realize that all his shit made a profit. Like, as much as you want to make fun of Tooth Fairy, it actually turned a profit. Journey 2 was a very big hit. For all people want to bitch, he kind of did pay his dues for those 00s years before Fast made him a mega star (and he honestly was the best part of the franchise from 5-7.)

Rock isn't a good actor, but it does get annoying when people shit talk the Disney era when he was simply paying dues and it ended up working out for him. All those movies made money. Race to Witch Mountain fucking made money.
