>>16033572Paul hasn't booked a single angle of his own that's over other than the punk/drew stuff. Every other major angle started under Vince in either 2020 or 2021, bloodline and judgement day are literally 4 and 3 year old angles at this point. Paul deserves no credit for Punk being over because he has nothing to do with it. CM Punk is John Cena for losers. As long as their are losers, Punk will draw a milly no matter who is booking.
The revisionist history around the hell in a cell match is hilarious too. Cornette claimed it was the only memorable HIAC since 1998. It wasn't even as good as the Cody vs. Seth one from a year ago. Honestly, I don't really think it was any better than Bayley vs. Bianca HIAC, the one where Bayley got KoD'd through a ladder and was injured for 9 months.
They're hot because Cena, Rock, Punk, Randy all came back within 9 months of each other, because Tony's booking is terrible, and because Cody vs. Reigns was a hot angle. That's really all it is. Paul was in the right place at the right time. Nevermind the fact that more than half of Vince's writing/booking team (including Pritchard) are still there.
