It started way before that, his and Orton's match back in 2004 or something was the original 30 minute meltzer flake bait snorefest and it failed to deliver

I think that the reality is just that Edge is not a very good pro wrestler. He's not very athletic and he doesn't really understand in ring storytelling. All his "epic" matches are just overly long snoozefests with lots of moves and finisher spam
