>>16054049I think Bret only started off being bitter about specific things like the Screwjob and being misused in WCW, but was generally not an all-around bitter person
But then he got older, got health issues, his family members and good friends started dropping like flies, and the wrestling industry that he gave so much to started to slowly minimize his legacy, which led to him swallowing his pride and returning to WWE and making amends publicly so that in exchange modern fans would be more aware of him and his contributions
You can tell this is the case based on how he still shit-talks guys like Vince and Shawn in interviews
Bret's had a rough life in his later years, and his wrestling career while certainly not a failure overall, had its rough spots too
I'll always be a fan of his, but I hope he learns to let some shit go before he passes. I hate how he still goes at Goldberg for that kick, even after apparently forgiving him. The kick was an accident, and it was partially Bret's fault anyway for not getting checked by a doctor when he first realized he was hurt instead of just trying to be a tough guy and wrestle more matches through the pain
He needs to let it all go
