Ain't never been that way. You have to give fans a reason to keep coming back beyond "We're going to win the championship this year!"
Kenny Omega isn't a stupid man, he can see all the videos and photos of 80% empty arenas despite AEW being "where the best wrestle". It's just not entertaining to anyone who doesn't watch AEW programming 40+ weeks per year. If you have other life commitments, if you only check it out every few weeks when you have time, if you only watch recaps on YouTube because you don't have cable, it's not a compelling show.
Next year, hopefully things will change once AEW PPVs are available on MAX at a lower cost. But if they're $20-30+ each, it's going to be the same situation. $40/mo is a large bill to do the bare minimum to follow your favorite wrestling promotion. Kenny is doing his best to keep away from AEW TV until the stank goes away and he's not associated with the failure and loss of hundreds of millions of dollars. It's rough being a Kenny fan but that's who Kenny is. No accountability for the business failures, he just wants Dave stars and to please the smarks.
