i actually used to really like MCMG but it really is an odd signing. I imagine they wanted them to coach the NXT teams or something and are just giving them a little main-roster run for fun and maybe out of... respect?

Yeah, I expected them to go to NXT too. Shelley already wrestled in NXT years ago. I'm assuming they've only brought them on for a short 2-3 year run, then quietly retire them to being producers or trainers. One of them is already a licensed physical therapist and personal trainer, so a retirement job at the Performance Center would make sense.
