>>16107048I feel like AEW could draw in a lot more people in if they just went with a happy medium of giving people what they want eventually but cockteasing endlessly like WWE does with some matches
Like the Seff v CM Punk things is still a tease, it's business that has some real life animosity behind it so it's almost, almost guaranteed to be a good feud between two people who can do business despite not liking each other but they'll wait till they can put a belt on Punk or something and gamble that there is no injury before it - so it's like either "what could have been" clip for years from now or just gonna happen when the real original heat for it has fizzled and they spend months rebuilding it on the show.
Same kinda happened with LA Knight that he didn't get his hands on a belt before he was getting colder, not in the peak organic hype.
But in AEW same sort of matches and runs are blown up and resolved in the same week and first possible PLE at the latest and that's not right. In retrospect lot of CM Punks run in there seems slow and methodical in comparison to latest toys arrival, that he wasn't in a championship match the first week, he worked those more undercard dudes, of course he was circling the top baby faces too and on the upper cards but it was a uphill hike not a rocket launch.
Tony said that there isn't really a long term booking and it shows.
