How was it misrepresented? It's pathetic as fuck that AEW and NJPW would get this mad that a talent that wasn't signed to either of them decided to go to WWE and shows how bush league they are. If the report had said CMLL wanted this then it'd be a whole other story because she screwed them over but nothing bad happened to AEW or NJPW out of this except spoiled rich kid Tony not getting the toy he wanted.

Not even finances to sign everybody down to long-term contracts, and in Japan it is considered shameful to let people go or cancel a contract due to the longstanding culture of job security. In Mexico, they seem to have way more problems with backstage attitude as well, so if they try to keep someone who doesn't want to stay, it is usually hell. Many famous incidents.

these "AEW and NJPW sources" are the same guy, AEW employee Rocky Romero
NJPW never had a problem with wrestlers leaving for WWE before, hell, Karl Anderson had the NEVER belt when he signed with WWE and he still did more shows with them. Tony is just butthurt and is trying to make it sound like New Japan cares and this isn't just him trying to force his hand and make the other companies involved be okay with this

She didn't have actual contracted dates, aka why there was no legal actions taken. If someone is paying you by the day and a major company wants to give you a contract, you have no reason to just keep working for the place paying you daily, especially when they are going to ask you to eat shit to look bad on the way out.

They always let wrestlers finish their bookings elsewhere, and like I said, they even worked a deal with New Japan for Karl Anderson to work NJPW shows (including Wrestle Kingdom) while he was already signed and performing in WWE
