Did Mersh actually say this? Kind of a bad take, considering it was HBK and Diesel and the Clique who had the belt for a lot of that time and it was right when Vince started fucking with the "New Generation" aesthetic that was visual AIDS in the 90s. Not saying Bret was some big draw (except in Europe), but there were so many other reigns during that time when he didn't have the title. Like, what the fuck was that Diesel year-long reign shit?
