man I miss those days when back in the day a ref sometimes would get absolutely CREAMED lol like the guys really layed it in. During the Attitude Era they had sick ref bumps every week in both feds. Shit was so high stakes that the refs were down for taking nasty bumps, too. And the bumps were different, too. Like in WCW the refs would take more comical bumps like Nick Patrick would get hit and it was the most theatrical shit ever. God that guy was great. He was so fuckin funny.

Don't have it but I think it was a TNA show where Bully Ray powerbombs a guy and the ref was meant to get hit as they guy goes up for the bomb. He was totally out of position though but still sold it.

Yeah the heel ref thing was a fun bit. Patrick had some great interactions with Jericho. And he had that neckbrace on for what felt like years lol. And yeah Lil Naitch is one of the goats of course. Love that guy.
I just remembered there was one time where a substitute ref ran in the ring and started counting and JBL broke the pin by just dropping an elbow on him. That shit was funny as hell.
