Later Mankind was just the real Mick Foley in a mask who resorted to using a sock as a prop because he couldn't go any more.
Dude Love was a joke and was never over. He was considered a comedy act and most of the time was just cringe.
Cactus Jack in WWF was the response to Dude Love, an attempt to bring back his credibility but it was short lived because it's not an actual character. There's no difference because WWF Cactus Jack and Mick Foley or late Mankind apart from a t-shirt and people got bored of pretending.
Foley is massively overrated historically and if he didn't go off that cell or write that first book then nobody would remember him in the same way. He wasn't bad but he was never great.
